Our goal is to ensure that placement at Wellington Hall Academy is in the best interest of the student, as well as to meet the behavioural and academic expectations of the school and parents.
The admission process typically follows this process for kindergarten to Grade 8:
1. Visit the School – Parents and students are invited to tour the school. The visit will provide information on daily routines, curriculum, evaluation procedure, and behaviour codes. During the visit, parents and school staff can discuss the child’s educational background, interests, and needs. Click here to book a tour.
2. Students Spend a Day – Prospective students from grades 1 to 8 are asked to spend a day at Wellington Hall in their present grade placement and to participate in classroom activities during this time. This visit gives children time to learn about WHA and to meet students and teachers; it also gives our teachers a chance to assess the child’s educational abilities and needs. Prior to a visitation day, parents must provide Wellington Hall with a copy of the child’s latest report card and any documentation relevant to the student’s placement (e.g. an IEP).
Prospective preschool and kindergarten students are also welcome to come for a short visit with their potential new class and teacher. An orientation day for new preschoolers and kindergartners is held in May.
3. Apply for Admission – An application for admission to Wellington Hall will be provided by the school office.
We are accepting applications for the 2020-2021 year now for all grades!
